An Ideal Teacher or My Favorite Teacher or My Class Teacher:-There are teachers and teachers, but how many of them are
ideal teachers? The percentage of ideal teachers is almost negligible. They are
hard to find. An ideal teacher is not heaven born. He is earthy, but he possesses
heavenly qualities of head and heart. He is friend, philosopher and guide to
his students. He is the master of the subject he teaches. His Knowledge is not
superficial. It is vast and deep. He is a voracious reader. He reads every new
book that deals with the subjects that he teaches. He shares his reading with
his students. He not only teaches them but also inspires and enthuse them. His
impressions are striking and they always go home. He is father unto his
students. He loves them like a father and forgives them like a mother. He is
full of imagination and gauges the feelings and difficulties of his students.
He deals with the students sympathetically. He is kind but firm. He tries to
shape and mould the character of his students both by example and precept. He
is regular, punctual and thorough in his work.

He is discipline minded but his discipline is real and genuine.
It is not the discipline of the rod. His appeal is always to the heart. He
never kills the spirit of his students. He never tries to make them blindly
obedient to all and sundry. He respects the personalities and sensibilities of his
students. He always encourages them. He never tries to win their love and
confidence. He rightly believes that the correct approach to the formation of
good habits, good morals and good physical health is education. This
educational approach has to be one which evokes the right response and trains for
the right conducts. It can have little of mere compulsion and ordering. The most
suitable method is through activities which are pleasurable. Free and voluntary
activities should constitute the bulk of character forming agency. An ideal
teacher takes an active part in scouting, Games, sports, hiking, mountaineering,
arts and crafts.

An ideal teacher may stand on dignity in the classroom, but
outside the classroom, he mixes with them freely. He is their playmate and
comrade. An ideal teacher takes great pains with his lessons. He prepares them thoroughly.
He never goes to the class unprepared. He does justice to the students so far
as their studies are concerned. He gives them the best in him. He always aims
at the producing good citizens. An ideal teacher is indispensable to the
institution here he works. He is an asset to it. The school is proud of such a
teacher and his proud of the school. He inoculates the growing minds of his
students with new ideas and with new aspiration. Such ideal teachers are the
crying need of India. India wants nothing so much as good teachers
